i dont know if it is suitable to post or not
but i has seen in some forum this-"points per post"
if member makes a post he gets points
he can redeem those points for some free gifts

Posts in a way sorta act like points... But still, I was thinking about this too, and the only one I've found was the one here. I'm not sure if it's the right one, but then again, I think it's the only one...

I think the points system link you have provided is good I would love to see those points exchanged for rewards such as bold username or custom user title or so on
I don't think there are gift redeem methods in the above link mentioned add on
